Results from Post Falls IEL Meet

Sandpoint traveled to Post Falls this past Wednesday for a 5 team meet with local schools. There were some incredible results, especially for this early in the year. In the girls races, Hannah Davidson stepped up as a Regional and State competitor in the 800, finishing 1st in the race with a PR performance of 2:30.35. Qetzal Hogue ran a 2:45, Heather Yunek a 3:08 and Jacqueline Owens a 3:33. Grace Bradley ran the 400, setting a new PR of 1:07.8. In the 1600, Mikhaela Woodward placed second, running a 5:40. Also in the race were Claire Pierce (5:54), Qetzal Hogue (6:02 PR), Sharon Rowe (6:08), Lauren Orr (6:10), Emily Marshall (6:11), Cori McClelland (6:16) and Dana Beaty (6:16). The 3200 was the last race of the day for the girls, and Mikhaela Woodward had another good performance, winning the race in an 11:58. Claire Pierce was 3rd with a PR of 12:37.

In the boys races, Mark Kennaly and Kenny Kovalchuk were a dynamic duo up front, taking second and third in 2:02.27 and 2:03.02 in PR times. This qualifies Kenny for the Pasco invitational standard. The race was filled with Sandpoint red, Chris Cordova was next in 2:11.7 (PR), Sam Powell in 2:11.9 (PR), Finan Lund-Andersen 2:19, Daniel Radford 2:26, Quinn Donnelly 2:30, Ike Rogers 2:34 (PR), Color Dillon 2:39 and Logan Finney 2:53. In the 400 Teagan Dieter continued to impress, running a 56.6 (PR), followed by Matt Cloud in a 57.05. Sam Powell was 5th in the 1600 with a 4:51, followed closely by Chris Cordova in 6th with a 4:51 also. Next was Finan Lund-Andersen in 4:58 (PR), Matt Cloud in 5:01, Andy McGinnis in 5:05, Peik Lund-Andersen in 5:13 (PR), Quinn Donnelly in 5:36, Cole Dillon in 5:36, Ike Rogers in 5:37 (PR), Dutt Rogers in 5:52, and Logan Finney in 6:29. The 3200 race saw a great PR performance from Jacob Graham, who took 3rd overall in 10:21, which was a 25 second PR. Andy McGinnis ran an 11:11, Kenny Kovalchuk a 11:28 and Daniel Radford an 11:54.


Great results for this early in the season, and the team will be getting ready for their home meet and Pasco next week!
