<br /><p>Sandpoint had 7 runners take part in the 4th annual NW Regional NXN Championships this past weekend. In the boys race, Danny Pfeifer led the Sandpoint Finishers, placing 27th out of 222 in the varsity race with a time of 17:20. Jimmy Matthews ran an 18:10 and Kevin Clyde finished his high school career with a PR time of 18:23.
<br /><p>For the girls, Molly Burgstahler led the way with a 22:20, followed closely by senior Hope Woodruff in a time of 22:33, a 1:22 PR. Becca Cloud ran a 23:14, and Audrey Shaw finished in a 25:09.

They placed 8 points behind 4th place Wood River on the windy course. David Marienau and Danny Pfeifer both earned All-State honors, placing 9th and 14th in the race respectively. Jimmy Matthews, Mikka Nostdahl, Tim Householter, Evan Rains and Alex Charvoz made up the rest of the state team.
<br /><p>For the Sandpoint Girls, Molly Burgstahler was the top finisher again, capping off a strong season for the Bulldog Junior. She placed 33rd with a time of 21:28. Virginia Faulkner-Monks, Becca Cloud, Aubrie Perry, Miranda Ewing, Marisa Rains and Shanysa Reid made of the rest of the state team. The girls team returns all but 1 runner from the state team for next year.

Evan Rains and Galen MacDonald rounded out the varsity team.
<br /><p>In the boys JV race, there were 12 team competing and the Sandpoint boys were 3rd overall behind CDA and Moscow. Kevin Clyde ran an 18:30 to finish in 7th place, Mikka Nostdahl was 10th with an 18:58, Mason Foster ran a 19:42 for 17th and Chris Jones ran a 19:46 for 18th. It was a great performance, even with so many out sick.

Virginia Faulkner-Monks ran a personal record of 22:16 for 9th place, Becca Cloud ran a 22:56 followed by Aubrie Perry and Miranda Ewing, with in the low 23s. Shanysa Reid and Hope Woodruff rounded out the top 7 girls who qualified for state as a team.
<br /><p>The girls JV team was 2nd out of 12 to Moscow, paced by Marisa Rains who ran a 23:23. Audrey Shaw, Jenny Pujesek, Ashley Anderson and Serena Fisher rounded out the top 5 for the JV girls.

<br /><p>The girls varsity were running without Molly Burgstahler this weekend, but ran well fueled by freshman Aubrie Perry in 21st with a 23:22. Becca Cloud was right behind with a 23:23, followed by Shanysa Reid, Miranda Ewing, Ashley Anderson, Lindsey Anderson and Mirasa Rains.

The three of them qualified as individuals as well as with their team. The girls placed a close second to Moscow with a 30 to 33 team score.

Megan Bartlett won the womens race in a time of 19:55. Kat Vardell was second with a time of 20:28. Vicki Vardell was first in her age and Christine Miller ran a 22:40.</p><p>Coach Matt Brass won the mens division with a time of 16:22. David Householter took 4th overall with a time of 17:37 (also first in his age group), Jesse Javana was second in his age group, and Jeremiah and Kevin Pfeifer also ran in the race.</p><p>There were also some runners who will be joining the team next year in the race including Danny Pfeifer, Hope Woodruff, Molly and Max Horn.</p>
