5th Straight Regional Titles for Sandpoint Cross Country Teams

For the 5th year in a row, the Sandpoint Cross Country team swept the 4A Regional Cross Country meet at Farragut State Park. The girls scored 23 points to win, Lakeland was 2nd with 54 and Moscow who scored 61 to place 3rd. Hannah Davidson won the individual Regional Title with a time of 20:08. She was followed by Kali Scheel in 3rd, Niah Brass in 5th, Ciera Bailey in 6th, Farli Boden in 8th and Corina Wallace in 9th. It was a dominate performance as the girls won their 5th straight Regional Title and brushed up for the State Meet on October 28th.

The boys team also won the 4A Regional title, scoring a perfect 15 points and placing 9 runners in the top 10. Lakeland was 2nd with 58, and Moscow as 3rd with 65. Ephriam Weisz was the individual Regional Champion in a time of 17:37, followed by Garrett Pierce in 2nd, Peik Lund-Andersen in 3rd, Cole Dillon in 4th, Brady Nelsen in 5th, Tyler McNamee in 7th and Dutt Rogers in 8th. The pack strength of the boys helped them win their 5th consecutive Regional Title as well.

In the girls JV race, Sandpoint had the top 4 of the top 5 runners to score 1st with 17 points. Lakeland was 2nd with 44. Paige Davidson won the race with a 23:02, and she was followed by Chloe Braedt was 2nd, Quinn Hooper in 3rd, Bionce Vincent in 4th and Chloe Pierce 7th.

The boys JV finished in dominant fashion, also winning the team title with a 15 points. Sandpoint had the top 11 spots in the race, starting with Gabe Merithew winning in an 18:41. Kyle Almeida was 2nd, Seth Graham 3rd, Nikolai Braedt 4th and Jett Lucas held the 5th scoring position.


Thank you to all JV runners who are done for the year, we are proud of you and all you accomplished this season. Those going onto State will run on October 28th in Boise.
