Bonners Ferry Invitational

The Sandpoint Boys Varsity and JV teams both the 2nd to Coeur d'Alene this weekend at the Bonners Ferry Invitational. The Varsity boys have 2 in the top 10 and all 7 in the top 25. Danny Pfeifer led the way for the team with a 18:07, followed closely by Jimmy Matthews at a 18:08. David Marienau, Mikka Nostdahl and Evan Rains rounded out the top 5. There were 12 teams at the meet, and boys top 5 time spread was only 1:19.
In the JV race, Galen MacDonald was 3rd and Chris Jones was 6th, pacing the boys to 2nd place.
The Sandpoint girls varsity placed 5th in the race behind Moscow in 4th. Molly Burgstahler placed 14th overall (23:05) to pace the girls. Becca Cloud, Lindsey Anderson, Hope Woodruff and Mariah Breakey rounded out the top 5 for the team.
In the JV race the girls had the only full team, and were paced by the 2nd place finish of Miranda Ewing in a time of 25:25 and the 5th place run of Susan Kovalchuk (26:07). Both Miranda and Susan will run varsity next week along with Shanysa Reid.
