Silverwood Invitational

The Sandpoint boys placed 5th out of 26 teams at the highly competitive Silverwood Invitational this weekend. Leading the boys team was Danny Pfeifer, who was 13th in the field of 170 with a time of 16:56. David Marienau was 20th with a 17:02, Mikka Nostdahl, Jimmy Matthews and Evan Rains rounded out the top 5 for varsity. The pack time was a 17:22 for the boys today.

4 boys also moved into the top 25 all time list for Sandpoint. Danny Pfeifer is now tied for 8th, David Marienau is in 12th, Mikka Nostdahl is now 17th, and Jimmy Matthews is 24th.

In the JV race, the boys placed 6th out of 22 teams. The were lead by freshman Alex Charvoz who ran a 18:32 in the race, placing 15th. Kevin Clyde (19:00), Galen MacDonald (19:05), Damon Rodriguez (19:59) and Chris Jones (20:00) combined for the top 5.

The girls varsity race was lead by Molly Burgstahler, who ran a 21:25. Shanysa Reid and Lindsey Anderson were next running a 23:02 and a 23:06 respectively. Freshman Miranda Ewing continued to run well with a 24:12, and Ashley Anderson rounded out the top 5 with a 24:26.

The girls JV were lead by Virginia Faulkner-Monks with a 23:14.2 and Becca Cloud who ran a 23:14.6. Both girls will move up to varsity next week. Next came Audrey Shaw, Susan Kovalchuk and Danette Mauck to round out the top 5.

Today was an excellent race, and this week Sandpoint prepares for Farragut.
