Rest
Rest in general is important because your body is trying to rebuild muscle and store energy after you workout.
Before a race you should try to get a good nights sleep both two nights before and the night before your race.
Proper rest will help when you need to pull from your energy reserves during a race. You will be more alert and feel better
with a couple nights of descent rest.

inspirations
The ultimate is not to win, but to reach within the depths of your capabilities and to compete against yourself to the greatest extent possible. When you do that, you have dignity. You have the pride. You can walk about with character and pride no matter in what place you happen to finish.
- Billy Mills, 1964 Olympic 10,000m champion
