Checklist
Hopefully these techniques will be helpful for you when you pack for a race.
- Pack your racing Shoes!
- Bring your Uniform
- Bring your warmups
- Bring multiple layers so that you can remove them if it warms up or put more on if it is cold. Bring a change of clothes in case you get wet.
- Pack food that won't bother your stomach before the race. Bagels, bannanas, water, etc. I don't recommend sports drinks before
a race. In a 5k race your body is not going to lose enough electrolytes to make it worthwhile, plus they are packed with refined
sugars which you don't need before a race.
- Pack food for after your race that will help to fill up your tank
- For long trips bring a pillow and blanket
- Bring any music you need that helps you before your race
- Extra shoes and socks in case they one pair get wet.
- Sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.
